Aamu is the Finnish word for morning: the quiet moment when a new day begins and the first light reaches the fells and the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. It is this moment that inspired the name of our Aamu Suites.

Each 47-square-metre suite has been designed to bring the beauty of Finnish Lapland into your stay. At the heart of every suite is a two-storey panoramic window facing northeast towards the lake and surrounding fells. As the seasons change, so does the view: the first light of morning, vibrant autumn colours, the soft blue tones of the polar night, the midnight sun, and on clear winter evenings, the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

Designed across two thoughtfully planned levels, the Aamu Suites are ideal for couples, small families and groups of friends. The ground floor features a welcoming living area with a sofa bed, an integrated kitchenette, a minibar, a separate shower room and a private WC. Upstairs, the sleeping loft offers comfortable beds for two and a view that invites you to pause for just a little longer, whether before falling asleep or as you wake to a new day.

Nestled within the peaceful grounds of Sunday Morning Resort, the suites are only a short stroll from the Resort's Main Lodge. Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast, spend the afternoon exploring the trails of Pyhä-Luosto National Park or the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, and return for dinner at Restaurant Aihki or a relaxing private sauna session.

The Aamu Suites reflect our vision of Nordic living, where natural materials, timeless design and responsible choices come together. Built with longevity and energy efficiency in mind, the buildings feature low carbon steel roofing as part of our ongoing commitment to more sustainable tourism. Inside, handcrafted Staalo antler light fixtures by local artisan Ari Kangasniemi add a distinctive touch of northern craftsmanship to every suite.

The name Aamu also honours the original name of the Resort, Pyhäaamu (Feast day morning), while symbolising new beginnings. It reflects the belief that the most memorable moments are often the quietest ones. When there is nowhere to hurry and nature sets the pace.
