Aihki Apartment

The sense of peace in Lapland is something you notice the moment you arrive. Built from hand-hewn old-growth pine logs, the Aihki Apartments are part of the original story of Sunday Morning Resort, where nature, timeless architecture, and unhurried moments come together.

Each apartment offers approximately 90 m² of space to relax and reconnect. The ground floor features a bedroom for two, a cosy living room with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private sauna. Upstairs, the spacious sleeping loft provides three additional beds, making the apartments ideal for couples, families, and small groups of friends.

Located in two traditional log-built semi-detached houses within the peaceful grounds of Sunday Morning Resort, the apartments are just a short walk from the Main Lodge. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, explore the trails of Pyhä-Luosto National Park or the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, then return to unwind by the fire or in the warmth of your private sauna.

The kitchens, bathrooms, and saunas were carefully renovated in 2019, combining modern comfort with the character of the original interiors. Many authentic details remain, including original woven textiles, rugs, and wall hangings by Finnish textile artist Annikki Karvinen, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere.

Even the tableware reflects Finnish design heritage. The two apartment buildings, Aslak and Uhtua, feature their own Arabia collections, designed by renowned Finnish designers Ulla Procopé and Inkeri Leivo. Their colours are inspired by Lapland's autumn landscapes, lakes, and northern skies.

Originally completed in 1990, the Aihki Apartments continue to celebrate northern Finnish craftsmanship through handcrafted log construction, locally created artwork, and natural materials. Modern comforts have been thoughtfully integrated while respecting the original character and surrounding landscape.
