Stay in the original heart of Sunday Morning Resort, where the story of our Resort first began. Built from hand-hewn old-growth pine logs, the timeless Main Lodge offers an intimate boutique hotel experience with just four Deluxe Double Rooms and one Family Room, creating a peaceful atmosphere that feels personal, unhurried and connected to nature.

Each room, measuring approximately 24 square metres, is thoughtfully designed for two guests. A private balcony overlooks the tranquil waters of Lake Pyhäjärvi, while the spa-inspired bathroom with its luxurious steam shower offers the perfect way to unwind after a day spent exploring the surrounding wilderness. Carefully selected materials, premium beds and modern comforts ensure a relaxing stay in every season.

From your room, everything is just a few steps away. Begin your morning with a leisurely breakfast, spend the day hiking through Pyhä-Luosto National Park or by the lakeshore, then return for dinner at Restaurant Aihki, a quiet evening by the fireplace in the Main Lodge, or a relaxing sauna session.

The interiors reflect the meeting of modern comforts and Finnish craftsmanship. Original woven poppana textiles (traditional Finnish woven cotton fabric) by Finnish textile artist Annikki Karvinen have been carefully preserved, while handcrafted Staalo antler light fixtures by local artisan Ari Kangasniemi add a distinctive northern character. Together with natural materials and timeless Finnish design, these details create a warm and understated atmosphere.

Completed in 1990 on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi, the Main Lodge was originally built as part of Aamulehti's seven-building lakeside retreat. Its hand-crafted log construction, locally created artwork and carefully preserved original details continue to celebrate the traditions of northern Finnish craftsmanship. At the same time, the building has been thoughtfully modernised with contemporary comforts and sustainable energy solutions, always respecting its original character.
