Restaurant Aihki is looking for a Head Waiter / Head Waitress to join our team for the winter season 2026–2027.

Located within Sunday Morning Resort in Pyhä, Finnish Lapland, Restaurant Aihki is known for its modern Nordic cuisine, where the finest local ingredients and authentic Lapland flavours take centre stage. Our restaurant has twice been recognised among Finland's Best Restaurants by Kauppalehti Optio (2022 & 2023).

About the role

As Restaurant Supervisor, you will oversee the daily front-of-house operations and ensure every guest enjoys a seamless dining experience from breakfast to dinner service.

You will lead, motivate and support the service team while working closely with our Executive Chef, Sous Chef and the rest of the management team. Your focus is on operational excellence, service quality and creating memorable guest experiences.

This role combines hands-on service with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both working with guests and developing a professional team.

Your responsibilities
  • Lead the daily front-of-house operations
  • Welcome and serve guests during breakfast, lunch and dinner with professionalism and genuine hospitality
  • Supervise, coach and motivate the restaurant team
  • Ensure smooth service and maximise guest satisfaction
  • Support sales through attentive and personalised service
  • Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage service
  • Coordinate wine service and contribute to developing wine pairings and recommendations
  • Manage the wine cellar and beverage inventory together with the kitchen and restaurant team
  • Collaborate with the kitchen management on menus, events and guest experiences
  • Maintain quality standards and work closely with the wider management team
We're looking for someone who has
  • Previous leadership experience in a restaurant environment
  • Experience in fine dining or high-quality à la carte service
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to stay organised and positive under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly
  • Fluency in Finnish and English (additional languages are considered an advantage)
  • Relevant hospitality education or equivalent experience
  • A genuine interest in high-quality food, wines and exceptional service
  • Valid Hygiene Passport and Alcohol Serving Licence (Anniskelupassi)
