Welcome to the first culinary highlight of the new year: the unique Aihki x Shii collaborative dinner, held on Saturday 3rd of January 2026 at Restaurant Aihki. During this special evening, Aihki’s kitchen joins forces with SHII, a renowned omakase restaurant from Helsinki, to create a dining experience where the depth of northern flavours meets the refined aesthetics of modern Japanese omakase cuisine.

Aihki’s Director of Restaurant Operations, Anssi Riihimäki, together with his team, and SHII’s owner and head chef, Nadim Nasser, craft the tasting menu as a unified effort.
The result is a harmonious and elegantly composed experience, where precise craftsmanship, thoughtful flavour pairings, and the identities of both kitchens intertwine. The evening offers a rare opportunity to taste a dialogue between northern ingredients and the Japanese cooking philosophy built upon technique, respect for raw materials, and refined balance.
What does omakase mean?
Omakase is a Japanese dining philosophy, translating loosely to “I’ll leave it to you.” At its core lies trust: the chef creates the evening’s menu based on the season, the finest available ingredients, and their own creative vision.
