Winter and spring 2027 bring four special evenings to Restaurant Aihki at Sunday Morning Resort in Pyhä. A celebrated Pyrenean winemaker, one of Finland's most decorated young chefs, a much-loved Master of Wine and Helsinki's acclaimed omakase restaurant SHII each take over our dining room for one night only. Seats are limited, so we recommend reserving early.

Castell d'Encus Winemaker Dinner | Saturday 16 January 2027
We open the year with an evening dedicated to Castell d'Encus, the high-altitude estate in the Catalan Pyrenees founded by winemaker Raül Bobet in 2001. Its vineyards lie between 800 and 1,230 metres above sea level, and some of its wines are still fermented in stone vats carved by monks in the 12th century.
Raül Bobet joins us at Aihki in person, together with our partner RF Wines. He set out to find vineyards that would keep their freshness as the climate warms, and the result is a range of precise, cool-climate wines from organically farmed vines – a natural match for the clean, seasonal flavours of Lapland. Our Head Chef Anssi Riihimäki designs the evening's menu around his wines and cooks it himself in the Aihki kitchen.
The menu – 5 courses, €99 per person
- Cep mushroom croquette, fennel cream & kombu oil
- King crab, fermented tomato broth & pickled jalapeño
- Grilled burbot, potato foam & miso-celeriac sauce
- Grilled lamb fillet, baked beetroot & beurre rouge
- Spruce namelaka, cloudberry sherbet & meadowsweet crumble
A wine pairing matched to each course is available at an additional charge.

Johan Kurkela at Aihki | Saturday 20 February 2027
Johan Kurkela, Finland's Chef of the Year 2023, represents Finland at the Bocuse d'Or World Final in Lyon in January 2027, widely regarded as the most demanding cooking competition in the world. Just weeks after the final, he returns to Pyhä to cook a one-night-only dinner at Aihki.
Kurkela earned his place in Lyon at Bocuse d'Or Europe 2026 in Marseille, where the Finnish team also won the special prize for best plate. Guests who joined his previous dinner at Aihki know what to expect: precise, inventive cooking at the very highest level. This is a rare chance to taste it in the fells, fresh from the competition.
The dinner is paired with wines from Fattoria Pagano, an organic family winery in Campania, southern Italy, known for its Falerno del Massico – and Angelo Pagano joins us in person to present them. The menu and price will be announced soon.

Essi Avellan's Champagne Dinner | Friday 12 March 2027
Aihki's sparkling signature evening returns. Internationally acclaimed Master of Wine and Champagne specialist Essi Avellan hosts her seventh Champagne Dinner at Aihki. Expect carefully chosen Champagnes, each paired with a course designed and cooked by our Head Chef Anssi Riihimäki, and the kind of stories only a Master of Wine can tell.
The menu has 5 courses and costs €99 per person. We will publish the full menu here once it is confirmed.
